How To Make Your Stay Even Better
There is no doubt that most of the organisation for a big group party usually falls on the shoulders of just one or two people.
A stay at Barton Court is designed to feel easy - for everyone - from the moment you arrive.
Whether that means fewer things to organise, less time spent cooking, or simply more opportunities to relax together, these optional enhancements are designed to help everyone enjoy the experience more fully - especially the person doing the planning.
Hampers
Herefordshire is the larder of England with some of the best food it is possible to find.
Enjoy a breakfast hamper of curated local produce that will start your morning in style. From local free range eggs, homemade jams, smoked salmon from an award winning local producer, to coffee roasted by a local expert, top quality sausages or bacon and artisan baked goods.
From Continental to a full English, the choice is yours.
Afternoon Tea
There is something quintessentially English about the ritual of afternoon tea.
It seems slightly decadent to linger over pastries and tiny sandwiches during the middle of the day. But that’s what holidays are all about - being indulgent and relaxed.
Have a proper afternoon tea set up and served for you in the drawing room. Very Downton Abbey.
Or, go out for a walk and come back to find the table laid ready for you to sit down and enjoy.
If the weather is fine, we can serve this outside, if you wish.
Supper - taken care of
For evenings when cooking feels like too much effort, a selection of dishes prepared by an award-winning chef can be left for you to pop in the oven while you catch up with family.
They are particularly suitable for your first evening after a busy day of travelling, for a relaxed supper with friends, or for any point during the stay when nobody wants responsibility for the kitchen.
It saves time, enables you to easily accommodate any dietary issues and means more of the day can be spent properly enjoying your stay rather than shopping and organising.
Private Chef
One way to fully enjoy the experience of country house living is to have a formal dinner cooked and served for you in the dining room by a brigade of professionals.
It offers the chance to dress up, relax and be waited on - a real treat, especially for the organisers of the group who can forget their responsibilities for the evening.

Barton Court Cellar
We have worked with a local independent wine merchant to create a wine list that our guests seem to love.
Chosen with care by a wine expert, our signature range has something for everyone.
You can place an order for as many or as few bottles as you wish. If you err on the side of caution and find yourself needing more during your stay, we can quickly arrange to have the stock replenished.
Wine Tasting
It is very easy to get stuck in a rut with wine buying. Experimenting can be expensive and unproductive
If you enjoy wine and would like to explore some new tastes, why not do it with the guidance of a specialist?
Michele Longari of the award winning independent wine merchants, Hay Wines, can prepare a bespoke tasting for you. Wine, whisky, port, liqueurs, name your poison and Michele will prepare a selection for you to sample.
