HOW FAR IS BARTON COURT FROM CHELTENHAM RACECOURSE?

Barton Court is about 40 minutes and 24 miles from Cheltenham Racecourse by the A-roads - about the same as Stow-on-the-Wold, and closer than Worcester. Guests drive over or around the Malvern Hills and approach the racecourse from the north, avoiding the worst of the town-centre congestion and the queues on the motorways.

A few practical notes from race-week guests:

  • Leave by 10.30am and the drive is easy; the racecourse's northern approaches move better than the town centre.

  • Prefer not to drive back after a long day? Local taxi firms know the festival run well — we're happy to share numbers and help you book ahead.

  • The champagne is cheaper in your own kitchen, and the evenings are quieter by some distance.

  • Splashing out? Take a helicopter. One can land at Barton Court, collect you and take you straight to the course.

RACE WEEK QUESTIONS

  • Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 March 2027, with the Gold Cup on the Friday.

  • From a couple in The Clock Tower or Hayloft, to six in The Coach House, to a full racing party of 26 in the Manor House - up to 40 across the estate.

  • There is a 2 night minimum stay

  • Yes - private dining and catered suppers can be arranged in advance, along with breakfast hampers so you're fed before the first race.

  • During festival week, Cheltenham's hotels fill early and prices multiply. Staying on a private estate 40 minutes away means space, parking, quiet evenings - and considerably better value.

  • Yes. The November Meeting runs Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2026 and the Christmas Meeting Friday 11 to Saturday 12 December 2026. Both are quieter than the Festival and ideal for a house party with a day at the races.
