Private Events at Barton Court

A private country estate for all seasons and all reasons

THE SETTING

Thoughtfully hosted gatherings in a private country setting

Barton Court offers a choice of distinctive settings across the estate, allowing private events to be shaped around the nature of the occasion. Gatherings can take place in the main house, within the converted barns, or across both together, depending on the scale, atmosphere and flow you’re looking for.

Choosing the right space

The main house is best suited to smaller, hosted occasions — such as family celebrations, private lunches or gatherings that call for a quieter, more measured setting.

The Saw Mill and Dutch Barn offer larger, more flexible spaces and are appropriate for livelier celebrations, including parties and evening events. These are the same spaces used for weddings, adapted to suit non-wedding occasions.

To preserve the character of the house, evening parties and amplified music are hosted within the barns rather than the main house.

Capacity and scale

Capacity at Barton Court varies depending on which spaces are used and the nature of the event. We’ll help you choose the most appropriate setting to ensure the occasion feels comfortable and well-balanced.

The Main House

Best suited to smaller, hosted occasions, typically seating up to 40 guests, depending on layout and use of rooms

The Saw Mill and Dutch Barn

Designed for larger gatherings and celebrations, with seated capacity of up to 100 guests, depending on format and flow.

House and barns together

Events making use of both the house and the barns can be accommodated by arrangement, subject to discussion and planning.

Timings, bar and licensing

For single-day private events, access to the venue is from 9.00am, with events concluding by midnight (11.59pm).

To ensure a smooth and respectful close to the evening, all music must finish and the bar close by 11.00pm, with guests departing and doors closed by midnight.

Bar provision

Barton Court is a licensed venue, and all drinks are provided and served through our in-house bar.

Later finishes (barns only)

For events taking place in the Saw Mill and Dutch Barn, it may be possible to extend licensing for a later finish.

This is subject to local authority approval and an additional charge, and must be arranged in advance.
