Children are welcome as part of family stays and private gatherings, and the Country House works best when there is a balance between adults and children.
As a guide, Barton Court is most comfortable with a small number of younger children (typically up to four under the age of ten).Larger groups with a high ratio of young children to adults can significantly change the atmosphere and practicalities of the house, and are often better suited to more informal, child-focused venues.
The boltholes are away from the main house, tranquil and private. They are not suitable for children -

These measures are practical rather than performative, and are intended to support the long-term health of the estate.
